The seminars are offered October through mid-December and cover a variety of topics intended to address the real-world problems businesses currently face.
Topics include e-commerce, social media, cybersecurity, blockchain, financing, startup law, and startup fundraising, with more seminars to come. Taught by experts in their fields, most sessions offer a virtual and an in-person experience, and are designed to help entrepreneurs develop their business and overcome their most pressing challenges. In-person seminars take place across the state, hosted at local colleges, co-working spaces, or the local chamber of commerce in each region.
These seminars are supported by the Werth Center for Entrepreneurship at Housatonic Community College and the Northwestern Connecticut Community College Entrepreneurial Center. Seminar attendees can pursue additional mentorship, resources, and programming through these centers for entrepreneurship to continue their momentum with additional support and training.
Funding for this initiative was included in the state budget and is intended to encourage economic development and provide small businesses and startups tools to help them succeed and thrive.
